Memphis made 2014 four-star wing Trevon Bluiett a priority. He filled a need on the roster, and the staff really wanted him. Unfortunately, the Indianapolis native picked Xavier, forcing the Tigers to move on.
They lose four senior guards after this season, and are desperate for shooting and scoring ability. Guys who can stretch defenses like Chris Crawford will have to be replaced, so the Tigers are now going to their next option: Avery Woodson.
Woodson plays at East Mississippi CC, and will have three years of eligibility remaining at whatever schools he chooses. If he winds up at Memphis, that would help spread the timing of the classes out, since he would potentially be on campus longer than most JUCO players.
